December 6th and 7th: “The Lord waits to be gracious to you” an Advent Retreat with The Rev. R. Carroll Travis

Join experienced spiritual director, priest, and counselor (and Veronika’s dad) Carroll Travis for two separate periods of reflections and small group spiritual practice designed to help with the stresses not only of the holiday season, but of life in Northern Virginia.

From 6-8:30 p.m. on Friday evening, come for supper and small group discussion based on Isaiah 30:15 and 18.

On Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.: “Hanging out on the Front Porch of Heaven” an exploration of Christian meditation, journaling and dream work, and other contemplative practices that may be helpful to small group spiritual growth. These practices are related to returning, rest, healing, quietness, confidence and strength, which are what God offers to us in the midst of chaos, transition and uncertainty. Lunch will be provided.

Learn how to use classic Christian spiritual practices for personal health and well-being, be a spiritual friend to others, and how to form a small group to support spiritual work.
